The study evaluated the quantity of Polyaromatic hydrocarbon (PAH) present in aqueous ethanol (Aq. EtOH), dichloromethane (DCM), and n-hexane (n-hex) extracts pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo) seed. Aliquots dried extracts, gotten from ground C. pepo, were subjected to Gas Chromatography Flame-Ionization Detector (GC-FID) analysis for quantitative identification polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) samples. procedure ensured that analytical process had quality assurance control. From result, only naphthalene was all three samples EtOH DCM; 0.05ppm, n-hex.; 0.03ppm). Out eight (8) PAHs identified with potential carcinogenic effects by Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), one, Fluorine, n-hex extract (0.04ppm). DCM more (5 PAHs) compared (4 Aq. (2 PAHs). fluorine obtained is lower than recommended daily intake line European Union (EU) limits fluorine, which 0.05 ppm d-1 or mg kg−1 d−1. Owing fact one chemical compound public health importance (on EPA priority list) found, far below standard limit calculation, it safe suggest pepo seed used this may pose minimal no risk exposed organisms. This important investigating intended experimental purposes, contaminants other inherent compounds be noxious biological system.
